It’s a shame there are only 6 30 minute episodes
Line of Events
When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a plan to get revenge and shake up the industry. Based on the 2011-2012 theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a storage facility in Quebec; five people were sentenced to prison.. This series reminded me of the show Fargo, which I loved.. it gets a high 8 imo because it kept my interest..
90% of it from Quebec
Margo Martindale is her usual wonderful self… she loves all of her roles. I didn’t know that Canada produces over 70% of the world’s maple syrup… I remember a story from 10-12 years ago about a maple syrup heist in Quebec…
The entire supporting cast is also amazing
worth millions of dollars, so I had to look it up. the story has a French/Quebec flavor (syrup analogy, hahahaha). The music is interesting because all these famous hits are remade in a French flavor with beautiful voices. The scenery is so provincial Quebec, which adds realism to the story.
a must see
The story is a drama, but with a bit of delicious comedy. Jamie Lee really adds to it and it was great to see her on screen again. It’s not a long series like many others, so it makes for a nice change of pace… Highly recommended…
